From Google AdMob, removable with a one-off purchase.
1Summary
The app has no accounts and no sign-in, and we don't run our own analytics. It is free and shows one advertising banner, served by Google AdMob. A one-off in-app purchase removes the banner, and with it the advertising described below.
2Advertising (Google AdMob)
The banner is provided by Google AdMob. To serve, measure and limit ads, and to prevent fraud, Google's SDK collects data from your device, which can include your IP address, device and app information, ad interactions, approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android). Google processes this data under its own privacy policy: How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland). Before any ad is requested, the app shows Google's consent form. If you don't consent to personalised ads, Google serves non-personalised ads based on context only. You can change your choice any time in Settings → Ads → Ad privacy choices.
- iPhone tracking prompt. On iOS the app asks for permission to track via Apple's App Tracking Transparency. If you decline, the advertising identifier is not shared. You can change this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Android Settings → Google → Ads (or Privacy → Ads).
We don't receive or store your advertising identifier, and we don't sell or share any data ourselves.
3In-app purchase
"Remove ads" is bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handle payment; we never see your payment details. The app only asks the store whether this purchase belongs to your account, so ads can stay off and "Restore purchase" works.
4Your location
If you tap the locate button, the app asks for permission to use your location. It is used only on your device, to centre the map where you are. It is never sent to us or anyone else, and it isn't stored.
5"Coach is full" reports
If you tap "Report coach full" on a coach, the app sends us the coach's fleet number, the timetabled trip it's on (or just today's date if the app can't tell which trip), and a random ID that the app creates once on your device so the same phone is only counted once per trip. The ID isn't linked to your name, account, advertising ID or location. Anyone can tap "Not full any more" to clear a coach's reports. Reports are shown to other app users until 10 minutes after the latest one, are stored with our database provider (Supabase, in the EU), and are deleted automatically after 3 hours.
6Data stored on your device
Your settings (theme, default direction, favourite stops), whether you've removed ads, the random report ID and which coaches you've reported full, and a cached copy of the timetable are kept in the app's local storage on your device. Google's advertising SDK also stores your consent choice on the device. Deleting the app removes them.
7Network requests
The app downloads:
- live coach positions and timetable updates from our server (hosted on Vercel), which relays the public live map published by Swords Express;
- map tiles from OpenFreeMap;
- ads from Google, unless you've removed them (see above).
Like any web server, these services can see your IP address and basic request details when the app downloads data. We don't log or use that information to identify you. See the Vercel and OpenFreeMap policies for how they handle requests.
8Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
9Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
